I worked alongside design and editorial colleagues in the early stages of developing the user interface and branding of Oxford University Press ELT generic secondary online practice materials. Exercises are presented in ‘clusters’, so navigation was an important design consideration.
Designs shown here were one stage of the process – showing an opener page for a course and a few ways of treating the header navigation design. The limitation of the horizontal fixed letterbox format means space is at a premium, so it was important to keep things contained at the top.
